Dartmouth's DPW collects trash and recycling weekly for households in its program, and the transfer station opens Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Miss all three and the pile waits another week.
Furniture, unbagged trash and wood are not priced per item at Dartmouth. They go on the scale, with a $12 minimum. You find out what your sofa costs after they have weighed it.
A mattress is $40 if you drive it there yourself and $50 for the town to collect it, four items maximum, by appointment only.

$35 a month for two 64-gallon totes, $40 for a 96-gallon trash tote with a 64-gallon recycling tote, and $45 for two 96-gallon totes. One flat monthly rate, totes included, no hidden fees.
A 64-gallon tote holds about four large kitchen bags and a 96-gallon tote about seven. One or two people usually fit in the 64. A household of four or more usually needs the 96. If you outgrow it, call and we swap it.
