Yard Waste Pickup

On-call pickup for Carney Disposal customers. $7 per brown bag, no hidden fees.

Got a pile of leaves, a stack of hedge trimmings or a few bags of grass? We will take it. Yard waste pickup is an add-on service for Carney Disposal customers, priced by the bag so you know the cost before the truck shows up.

What it costs

$7

per brown bag. Tell us roughly how many bags you have when you call and we will give you the total.

On call only

Yard waste is not collected on your weekly trash day. Call the office when your bags are ready and we will schedule the pickup.

Most towns we serve have no curbside yard waste collection of their own, so this is the alternative to loading the car and driving it somewhere.

What Counts as Yard Waste

What we take

Leaves

Grass clippings

Pine needles and pine straw

Garden and flower bed trimmings

Hedge clippings and small prunings

Small branches and twigs, bundled

What we cannot take

Stumps, logs and firewood

Branches over 3 inches thick or 4 feet long

Soil, sod, loam, rocks, gravel and colored mulch

Concrete, brick and asphalt

Lumber, pallets, railroad ties, treated or painted wood

Bamboo, poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac (any invasive plant)

Plastic bags of any kind

Household trash mixed in with the yard waste

Glass, metal, wire, rope and fencing

Landscaper and contractor loads

How to Set It Out

Bags and barrels

Brown paper yard waste bags, or an open barrel no larger than 32 gallons

Keep each bag or barrel under 50 pounds so one person can lift it. Wet grass and soaked leaves are what push a bag over

Never plastic bags. The material is composted, and one plastic bag can get an entire load turned away

Branches and brush

Tie branches into bundles with twine, no longer than 4 feet and no thicker around than one of the bags

A bundle that size counts as one bag, so it is the same $7

Set everything at the curb where the truck can reach it, clear of mailboxes, parked cars and low wires

Good to Know

One company, one call

Yard waste pickup is an add-on for homes already on a Carney Disposal route, so the company that takes your trash and recycling takes the yard waste too. We do not take landscaper or contractor loads.

Big cleanup?

If you are clearing a whole yard rather than filling a few bags, a dumpster usually works out better than counting bags. Call and we will tell you which way is cheaper.
