Trash & Recycling Pickup Schedule

Common questions about the schedule

What happens to my pickup in a holiday week?

When a holiday falls on a weekday, collection for that day and every day after it in the same week moves back by one day, so a Friday route runs on Saturday. Days before the holiday run as normal. A holiday that falls on a weekend does not change the week at all.

Which holidays does Carney observe?

New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. When one lands on a Saturday or Sunday, as July 4 does in 2026, nothing moves, so it does not appear in the table. The dates and shifted pickup days for the current year are listed on this page.

What time do my totes need to be out?

By 7:00 a.m. on your pickup day. Putting them out the night before is fine and is the safest way to be sure you do not miss the truck.

Why do Cohasset and Hull show two days?

Each of those towns is split across two routes, so your pickup day depends on where you are in town. Call 508-822-2208 with your address and we will tell you which day is yours.
