Mattresses, furniture, appliances, TVs and tires cannot go in your tote, but we pick them up by appointment at a flat price per item.
Bulk Prices$7 per brown bag. Hanson's transfer station takes grass and leaves but will not take brush. We take both, at your curb.
Call Today!Plenty of Hanson households take their own trash to the transfer station instead, and for some of them that is the right call. Here is the honest comparison.
Hanson's sticker is $93, and it is only admission. Household trash still goes out in town bags at $13.75 a roll, and the rules say you must already hold the sticker before you can buy a bulky-item ticket, which is sold at the station itself, not in advance.
A mattress is $45 and a box spring is another $45, and Hanson's fee schedule states they are not considered bulky items, so a bed set is $90 and cannot go in the $50 bulky load. Upholstered furniture, wood furniture, toilets, sinks and carpet are $20 apiece, appliances $20, and tires have to be off the rims before they will take them.
Open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closed Wednesday, Thursday, and every day from noon to 1:00 p.m. Roughly 26 hours a year of your time, unpaid.
Every Thursday, from your curb, for $30 a month flat, the day the transfer station is shut. No sticker, no rolls of bags. Bulky items are a phone call and a price we tell you before we come.

$30 a month for two 64-gallon totes, $35 for a 96-gallon trash tote with a 64-gallon recycling tote, and $40 for two 96-gallon totes. One flat monthly rate, totes included, no hidden fees.
A 64-gallon tote holds about four large kitchen bags and a 96-gallon tote about seven. One or two people usually fit in the 64. A household of four or more usually needs the 96. If you outgrow it, call and we swap it.
