Curbside Trash & Recycling
Trash in one tote, recycling in the other, in the sizes that fit your household. Both are collected from the curb on your pickup day.

Bulk Items

Mattresses, furniture, appliances, TVs and tires cannot go in your tote, but we pick them up by appointment at a flat price per item.

Yard Waste

$7 per brown bag. Hanson's transfer station takes grass and leaves but will not take brush. We take both, at your curb.

Why Choose Us?

Plenty of Hanson households take their own trash to the transfer station instead, and for some of them that is the right call. Here is the honest comparison.

$93
sticker, before anything else

Hanson's sticker is $93, and it is only admission. Household trash still goes out in town bags at $13.75 a roll, and the rules say you must already hold the sticker before you can buy a bulky-item ticket, which is sold at the station itself, not in advance.

$90
for a mattress and box spring together

A mattress is $45 and a box spring is another $45, and Hanson's fee schedule states they are not considered bulky items, so a bed set is $90 and cannot go in the $50 bulky load. Upholstered furniture, wood furniture, toilets, sinks and carpet are $20 apiece, appliances $20, and tires have to be off the rims before they will take them.

52
trips, and the gate shuts for lunch

Open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closed Wednesday, Thursday, and every day from noon to 1:00 p.m. Roughly 26 hours a year of your time, unpaid.

What we do instead

Every Thursday, from your curb, for $30 a month flat, the day the transfer station is shut. No sticker, no rolls of bags. Bulky items are a phone call and a price we tell you before we come.

Common Questions in Hanson

What day is trash pickup in Hanson?

Every Thursday. Have your totes at the curb by 7:00 a.m. Recycling is collected the same day, every week. In a holiday week your pickup moves one day later. See the holiday schedule.

How much does trash pickup cost in Hanson?

$30 a month for two 64-gallon totes, $35 for a 96-gallon trash tote with a 64-gallon recycling tote, and $40 for two 96-gallon totes. One flat monthly rate, totes included, no hidden fees.

Which tote size do I need?
