Why Choose Us?

Plenty of Hingham households take their own trash to the transfer station on Sam Ryder Road, and for some of them that is the right call. Here is the honest comparison.

$0
for the permit, and the trips are the price

Hingham's resident transfer station permit is free — one per household, with a second vehicle at $25 a year. What the permit does not cover is the fifty-two trips a year it takes to use it.

3
days a week the gate is shut

The station opens Thursday to Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If your week does not have a free Thursday to Sunday in it, that is the catch.

52
trips, and the loading is yours

A mattress is $20 and a large appliance $15 at the gate. What it costs you instead is fifty-two round trips a year, roughly 26 hours, plus a vehicle that will take a sofa.

What we do instead

Every Monday, from your curb, for $30 a month flat, with bi-weekly recycling. Curbside or up the driveway if you cannot get the totes out. Bulky items are a phone call and a price we tell you before we come.
